Rare Hopi Kachina Dolls

John C. Hill Antique Indian Art has one of the most extensive inventories of Hopi and Zuni Kachinas in the country.  Please contact us for more information or photographs. BUTTERFLY MAIDEN

PALHIK MANA the BUTTERFLY MAIDEN. A very interesting carving from the 1930-40 period. Height 15 inches. Soft paint with a crate wood tablita. Price $5500.00


OTTO PENTEWA

A PAIR of OTTO PENTEWA KACHINAS. TALAVAI the MORNING SINGER, likely from the 1940's. Just 8" tall, has all the unique carving elements of OTTO. The other is  a rare PARROT KACHINA or HUMMINGBIRD variation. It is 9" tall. This pair came together and probably have always been together. Price for the pair; $5000.00


HOPI DANCE TABLETA

BUTTERFLY DANCE TABLITA. With a blue butterfly on the opposite side. Size 16 inches high by 14 inches wide. Old crate wood 3/8 inches thick. Nice old soft paint, colored feathers and several old repairs. Well used. Price $2200.00


PAHLIK MANA

POLIK MANA or BUTTERFLY KACHINA MAIDEN. An excellent and large example of the iconic Butterfly dancer. Circa 1940. Well carved with a thick one piece tablita. Height 18 1/4 inches. $6500.00

ZUNI KACHINA; Upo'yona, Pautiwas's Son. Appears in the Rain Maker's Dance. Usually Zuni dolls are very specific and this one is. It is exactly as it appears. Before 1950, height 9 1/4 inches. Price $1450.00

Hopi Clown by Jimmy Kewanwytewa (attributed, it is unsigned) NA'SOMTA TSUKU, The Hair Knot Clown. Ca. 1940, 12 1/2" height. Price $2800.00

HEHEYA. This Hopi Kachina appears in pairs with Soyok at Powamu. Older type with green mask and large spool feet. Circa 1910. Height 9 1/2 inches. Price $3500.00
