Darlene James Nampeyo
  The following tiles were made by Darlene James Nampeyo.  She is profiled in the recent publication Hopi and Pueblo Tiles by Kim Messier and Pat Messier. They write, "A great-great-granddaughter of Nampeyo, Darlene was born into the Hopi-Tewa Corn Clan in 1956. She began potting in 1968 and learned from her aunts Dextra Quotskuyva and Priscilla Namingha as well as from her grandmother, Rachel Namingha...she is an exceptional painter and her pottery normally takes on traditional forms...Darlene digs her clay from different locales around First Mesa and ancestral Hopi villages..."

Acoma Olla-Tularosa design- This olla was collected at Zuni and used by Zuni women in the dance procession.  Note the cotton string and cloth base for wearing on the head.  Signed "Sky City, Acoma".  One slight rim chip and very minor spalling.  Measures 9" high by 11 1/2" wide.  $1,250.00
